The intent in establishing the Strategic Infrastructure Zone
To safeguard land for nationally and regionally critical infrastructure assets that support Dholera SIR's long-term functioning:
- Airport, ports & freight terminals
- Defence and security installations
- Power generation and transmission
- Water treatment & desalination plants
- Sewage and waste management plants
- Transit hubs & multi-modal interchanges
- Major utility & telecom backbones
To keep flexibility for evolving strategic projects identified by DSIRDA.
To restrict private/commercial uses that conflict with public-interest infrastructure.
The following use premises will be permitted

Regulatory Notes
Use, intensity and built form are determined by DSIRDA on a case-by-case basis in the public interest. Private commercial development is not permitted here.
Strategic Buffer Controls
Buffers around strategic infrastructure are defined per project and per regulatory authority (defence, aviation, power, water) at the time of approval.
