The intent in establishing an Agricultural Zone
To preserve productive farmland on the periphery of the Special Investment Region and protect the rural character around village settlements:
- Crop cultivation and horticulture
- Dairy & livestock farming
- Floriculture and nurseries
- Agro-forestry plantations
- Aquaculture and fisheries
- Farm-based eco tourism
- Agro-processing at source
To allow farm-support activities that do not compromise the agricultural intent.
To ensure controlled, low-density development along zone edges.
The following use premises will be permitted
- 01Farmhouse with attached cultivation land
- 02Agricultural godown / cold storage
- 03Dairy unit and cattle shed
- 04Poultry / fishery / horticulture unit
- 05Veterinary clinic and animal care
- 06Agro-processing cottage industry
- 07Plant nursery and floriculture
- 08Religious / community structure
- 09Public utility and infrastructure
- 10Farm tourism and homestay
Regulatory Notes
Non-agricultural conversion will require special permission from DSIRDA. Industrial activities (other than agro-processing at source) are not permitted. Group housing and commercial complexes are strictly prohibited within this zone.
Edge Conditions & Setbacks
Plots abutting natural drainage, canals or village settlements must maintain a vegetated buffer planted with native species at a density of 1 tree per 9 sqm.
